Synopsis : 

The Harry Potter series is one of the most successful and brilliant franchise the world has ever witnessed. The author of the book, J.K. Rowling, wrote seven series out of which 8 movies were made. In this article, I would be reviewing the first movie of the series , “ Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone” and highlight it's few salient features : 

(1) The Introduction to franchise :  The Philosopher's Stone movie is the best intro to a series. It gives the viewers a clear glimpse of the wizarding world, even if you didn't read the book, you will understand every tiny scene completely. The concepts of Muggles, Hogwarts, Ministry of Magic , Gringotts are shown with great cinematography and the creators made it quite informative. 

(2) Concept of various creatures : J.K. Rowling mentioned many creatures that were earlier known to us in Greek and Latin Mythology. The movie contains creatures like Dragons, Centaurs, and Unicorns. 

(3) Hogwarts School : The Hogwarts School was the most fascinating features of this movie. The first scene of the Hogwarts at night was true beauty to the viewers. As shown in the movie, Hogwarts has many mystical features like The living paintings, The Ghosts, The Changing Staircases etc.

(4) Quidditch : The Quidditch Game also attracted many audiences to the series. This movie gives us an intro to The Wizarding World most popular game ‘Quidditch’, which we know as soccer. It's completely same as soccer but it is played in air with broomsticks. Our protagonist , Harry Potter is a great Quidditch Player as depicted in the movie.

(5) The Villain : Harry Potter franchise's main antagonist is Lord Voldemort, the most powerful dark wizard who killed Harry's parents when he was just one year old. However, he died mysteriously when he was about to kill baby Harry. But Voldemort returns again in this first movie by possessing one of the school's professor. 

(6) The fame of Harry Potter : Harry Potter is most famous in the wizarding world because he was the reason of Voldemort's demise. Everybody thinks Harry possess great strength even as a child as he killed the most powerful wizard without any spell. He's quoted as “The Boy Who Lived ”.
