Feminism is seen as more negative than positive and it's easy to understand why? after all, what can you expect from a patriarchal society? but just to make clear feminism is all about movement for equal rights and opportunity for women and girls as boys. leveling all the platforms between gender. However, asking for women's equal rights somehow makes you an anti-men person. Of course men perceive that way as either they feel threat in giving equal chances for growth to women or they feel it unworthy. In any case they think bias. and hence feminism is necessary.

 women who believed in feminism worked hard for equal rights, changing mindsets, creating opportunity  really brought change in society. A little efforts makes things move faster. we have witness how Indian homes are more welcoming towards girl child now. How every job is filled with at least one woman employee and how married women now pursue careers of their own choice. Families are more supportive, especially parents and husbands. we really have raised the bar of women empowerment.

but it is not a case of 100 percent improvement, there is a lot yet to achieve. Most of the changes are in urban areas and villages where resources are well. but still in many parts of India women are suffering. Also there are many areas where women empowerment is lacking. we are still struggling for women safety, women's right of choosing partners, high positions for women, child birth decisions, career breaks, abuse, harassment so on..

Road is long and it demands persistence, but somehow my observation is women who have not suffered any injustice in life due to well educated parents, empowered mothers and due to all the efforts women did in the past to give next generation women better life are not supporting feminism enough. The main reason is they don't see problems in society as they have not experienced it as first hand. They might don't relate with thought. But aren't they in debt to women who worked so hard since ages so that other women get to live better lives? So privileged women should be working more for feminism as they are morally responsible to give it back to society. 

supporting feminism means not at all doing anything extra, or obviously not hating or targeting man. to support feminism one can only assure no girls around them are victims of patriarchy. Always giving equal chances to women around and ensuring safety of women. 

But sadly many empowered women have lost their way  and started behaving as gender bias never existed. They do not support women driven concepts or do not get involved where they have to speak up for injustice. I have observed have conveniently women decide and say 

“it's not our problem” just because it's not from the same society she belongs. It's unfortunate where elite people think that some issues are only in particular Socio-economy class, and I wonder what made them think that issues in that part of society won't affect them. because end of the day we all connected and most importantly we all are connected as bigger role called “women”

I feel empowerment somehow brought change for women in society but it also affected feminism. As said earlier many young girls don't believe in that or men successfully have made perception that it's a negative moment and one should stay away from it.surprisingly many parents do convenience their daughter for not to get into any activity who supports feminism as it's not the case , they say it's havoc!!  So I fear this approach of not speaking much or ignoring injustice will again take us back where we started. because when you don't see a problem, you don't fight for it. and the problem continues to be stronger and one day it kills you . Ignorance is no less than cancer. Wake up now!! Do your bit, Women still need support. Women still have to fight longer to win. Who does not believe in feminism just tell them to ask themselves, if in your entire life not once she has been reminded that ‘she is a woman'? And if you start remembering, count how many times and then start working for a better future of women in society.
