The majority know for sure how desserts and acid drinks induce holes, but they are far from the main food sources that can affect oral health. Salt has been shown to have a significant effect on teeth. 

The question is, is it a decent or terrible effect ? 

The answer the dentist gives is that salt has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to oral health, and you need to be aware of these when deciding whether to reduce sodium in your diet. 

How salt helps our teeth

If you have recently received oral treatment or have a current tooth condition, your dentist may recommend a salt water rinse. This is because salt is a characteristic disinfectant. It can increase the PH balance of your mouth and create a climate that makes it more difficult for harmful micro organisms to grow. It also reduces unpleasant stretches in your mouth. 

How salt damages your teeth

Tragically, despite the fact that the salt-based oral-care products are perfect for your smile, they are comparable to high-salt foods. This is because high-sodium foods are often high-carbohydrate foods such as bread, pasta, and waffles. Carbohydrates are gradually broken down into monosaccharides and starch, which can benefits oral microbes and turn into caustic alkalis that dissolve the finish. Overall, eating too much high-salt foods can increase caries gambling. It can also affect calcium levels. Too much salt can cause your body to release more calcium than your expect. This can lead to osteoporosis. It is an infectious disease that reduces and weakness bones. Assuming that osteoporosis occurs in the jawbone, the teeth may eventually loosen and try to fall out. 

Benefits of reducing salt intake 

Overall, reducing dietary-salt makes it easier to keep a smile and avoid osteoporosis. It can also contribute to overall health by reducing the risk of high blood pressure, heart failure and stroke. Helps prevent drought and water supply problems. Of course, you can definitely use saltwater detergent and salt-based toothpaste to protect your teeth. Be sure to put them out when you're done. If you think that too much spicy food is affecting your oral health, talk to your dentist. Once they have checked and cleaned your teeth, they will review your normal eating habits to see what types of foods may be seriously dangerous to you and give you better other foods.
