Gopan walked forward saying that he did not know anything . SO they walked and went to the front of the library where Maniyan was sitting. Gopan asked,"Are you Maniyan?" Maniyan Replied,"yes.who are you?what do you want?".Gopan said,"I am Gopan from Bombay, Can I rent a house here for a few days?"."There is no house here for rent now", Maniyan said .What should we do now ,Gopan asked. Maniyan thought for a moment and said "There is no house here for time being but there is a way, there is a house here called as Devarmana.Only the owner of the house was living there and a lot of rooms are just lying empty.We can ask him .Gopan said "Yes". On their way to Devarmana following Maniyan he asked Gopan,If he had seen him anywhere before. Sunanda looked at Gopan carefully sunandha had some doubts about his behaviour. Gopan said to Mani," this is my first time coming here ". They walked on again and on the both sides of the road there was full of grooves and forest.On the way Sunanda asked Maniyan how is that owner of the house, why he was living alone. Maniyan said with a small smile,"Once upon a time , he was a well known genius known as Krishnanarayana Varma and everyone in this village was respected him and so scared of him". Then Sunanda asked him why he was like this now. Maniyan said ," this is a big story I will tell you later" and they went on walking the village was very beautyful.The way they were going was crowded with trees. So even there was only a slight gleam....in the way.On the way Anand saw a fruit on a plant Then he asked sunanda if the fruit is edible and if so can I have it?Then maniyan replied that the fruit is not edible ,it is poisonou.if you have it you will die. Then Maniyan told Gopan to keep the children away .there are many poisonous fruit like this.  By saying that,they walked forward again. The Maniyan want that area was infested with reptiles. On the way, Something pricked on his leg. Gopan bend down and looked , it was a thorn. Gopan picked up the thorn and hurts something on the right side. Someone is sitting under a big tree covered with an old blanket he has an stick on his hand  . Everyone was silent for a moment and Anand and Arya hide behind sunanda in fear. Maniyan asked in a hard voice, "who are you?". The man slowly looked up. He has ugly hair and long beard .He slowly get up from there and He  looked at gapes and said in a loud voice ," you and your family are going to death",there is someone waiting for you. ha ha ha He laughed loudly and walked in forest.
