We are all aware of The Taj Mahal  is one of the seven wonders of the  world. Its beauty is irresistible.

Once the ex-president of America  Bill Clinton came to see the Taj Mahal and he gets astonished by its beauty and says that…….

“There are only two types of people in the world. one who have seen the Taj Mahal and others who haven't.”

It is known by everyone that  the Taj Mahal is built by SHAHJAHAN for his beloved wife MUMTAJ but there are a lot more unknown facts about the Taj Mahal , so lets continue……

  1. The Minarets were built tilting outwards to protect the Taj Mahal from calamities like  earthquake. if you observe carefully you'll found that the minarets are tilt outward. This was done to protect Taj Mahal from natural disasters like earthquakes so that  the minarets won't fall on the main GUMBAD.
  2.  The foundation of  the Taj Mahal would have eroded years ago if YAMUNA wasn't there. as the Taj foundation is made of timber which is not supposed to be long-lasting. The wood should weaken over time.but that not happen because the wood is kept strong and moist by the river water.
  3. usually, it is consider as the Qutub Minar is tallest building but in actual the taj mahal is taller than Qutub Minar the height of qutub minar is 72.5m whereas the height of taj mahal is 73m.
  4.  Shahjahan wanted to build another taj mahal , a black tajmahal.   Shahjahan is widely desired to have a mausoleum for himself similar to that one he had built for his wife,Mumtaz mahal . the writings of the European traveler, Tavernier mentioned that shah jahan began to build his own tomb on the other side of river but could not complete it because he was deposed by his own son AURANGZEB .
  5. The Taj Mahal changes color depending on the light. the taj mahal is pinkish in the morning, white in the evening and golden when the moon shines.
  6. the makers employed an optical trick so that you move closer to the gate, the Taj mahal keeps getting smaller.
  7. firstly the Taj mahal was decided to built in some uther city named as BURHANPUR but due to some noneconomical,social- financial, and non-availability of resource he refused to make taj mahal over there and later decided to built it in on riverbank of the  Yamuna in Agra.
  8. Also firstly the Mumtaz Mahal was buried in Burhanpur and later she was taken to Agra and buried there.
