A Daughter's Plight

“What the heck?” I had cried, entering my living room. Raunak my best friend, rather my only friend was in there. But more than just my friend he was the son of a man who'd driven my father to death.

About twenty years ago, Dad had been giddy about the new chemical factory. He had told me, "Uncle Mahajan is my new partner." But this new partner was devising a new crime. 

Mahajan and I'd never met, so he never knew that I was the daughter of his prey. My father, to hide me from that manslaughter left me at Aunt's place, with a promise to never leave me. He is with me albeit not physically. 

“Earth to Riddhima." Raunak interuppted.

“Why are you at my place, I gave you a bunch of spare keys in case of an emergency.”

“Relax why are you so Feisty today? Is there something, I should know?” He smirked and wiggled his eyebrows teasing me. “I just want some help.”

“Nope I am not helping you.” I declared.

He chuckled and ignored me," You know how I always tell you that you should join my father's chemical factory. I know you have some obsession with chemicals. Don't you??"

“What's the catch.”

“Look there's a new company, they want to do some experimentation with sulphuric acid. If I make this work then he'll finally believe in me."

“ Stupid, stupid idea, I just have an intrest I am not a professional.”

“ Believe me, nothing would happen.”

I relented, "Fine"

“Did you just agreed, I spent hours on a speech to convince you.” He pouted dramatically. I simply shrugged.

“There's one more thing, my father should not know about this.  I want to prove myself. Please? this would be the last time I would ask for a favour.”

I swallowed the lump in my throat and replied,"fine."

He came and hugged me tightly. If my arms would've been strong like his, I would have strangled him a long ago.

“You're sure you'll do it.”

“Yes, I have to. Last time, right?”

That would be the last time for Raunak. Just like there had been a last tym for my father. I was close to achieve what I wanted. Last time and this will all be over…At least that's what I thought…
