I hope you all are doing great. When we talk about South Indian food, appe is something which surely comes to everyone's mind. Appe are not only easy to make but they are healthy also. They can be prepared with very less amount of oil or you can use no oil for this you need to use non stick appe pan. Today's recipe is not the regular appe which we usually eat but we are making it with a twist. We will be adding corn in it to make it a healthier snack.
The ingredients that are required to make corn appe are-
Frozen or fresh corn- 1 cup, semolina- 1 cup, curd- half a cup, salt- as per your taste, chopped green chillies- 1 teaspoon, ginger and garlic paste- 1 teaspoon, fruit salt- one teaspoon and oil.
Method to prepare corn aape- Add a little of water in the corn and grind it to make a paste. Now add semolina, curd, green chillies, ginger garlic paste and salt in it. Mix it well and then add some water to make a smooth paste. The consistency of the psate should be normal- neither too thick nor too thin. Now cover it and keep it for twenty five to thirty minutes so that our paste can get a better texture. After that add fruit salt and two to three teaspoon of water and mix it. At this point, you do not need to mix it too much just mix it by using cut and fold method.
Now take an appe stand and grease it with oil so that the appes would not stick on the stand. Transfer the prepared batter in the stand with the help of a spoon. You can apply a coat of oil on the upper side also. Now let it cook on low flame. When they get cooked from one side, turn them to cook from other side as well. Take out the appes in a plate and serve it with coconut chutney, tomato sauce or tea. Enjoy.
