Jaggery - A Boon For Good Health

Hello dear readers, I hope you all are doing well. Welcome to another blog related to health. Now people are moving towards healthy lifestyle so most of them avoid the consumption of sugar. There are several other options available to fulfill the sugar cravings. I feel that instead of taking any artificial sweetner, one must try some natural products as they do not contain chemicals which ultimately affects our health in a negative way. Jaggery can be a good alternative, it not only tastes good but has a lot of health benefits too. It is evident by its usage in a number of Ayurvedic medicines. It is very beneficial to be consumed during winter season as it helps in maintaining the body temperature. Here are some of the benefits of eating jaggery - 

  • It is a good source of iron so it is beneficial for the patients of anemia (deficiency of blood). It helps in purifying blood by removing toxins from the body. It makes the skin glowing and reduces acne.
  • Jaggery has anti allergic properties. Consuming it helps in avoiding cold, cuff etc. It is quite useful for the patients of asthma also.
  • It helps in the process of digestion. People who have problems related to formation of excessive gas should consume jaggery after having their meal. 
  • Consuming jaggery along with ginger is beneficial in joint pain. 
  • Eating it with milk or water provides cooling to stomach. 
  • Eating jaggery empty stomach makes you feel refreshed and energetic. 
  • Jaggery is beneficial for people who work in factory or places where pollution, dust is in excess. 
  • If you have cough or sore throat then mix jaggery with  ginger juice and consume it after heating it. This helps in getting rid of the problem.

Please note that excess of everything is bad. There are several benefits of jaggery discussed above but each and everything is good in a limited quantity only. Consumption of jaggery in excessive amount can cause diabetes, problem of excessive weight, allergy etc. It is advised to be consumed in a proper quantity only.
