Sometimes we eat biscuits, cookies and other snacks, they surely help in fulfilling cravings but are not good to be eaten regularly. Some of us starve ourselves because we do not want to eat anything that is unhealthy and can lead to increased weight. Here are some options for you that you can try to satisfy your cravings without any tension of weight gain.
Dryfruits and seeds- A handful of dryfruits is a healthy option to start your day. Dryfruits and seeds are full of protein. Eating almonds, walnut, pistachio nuts, sunflower seeds make your stomach feels full for a long period and thus help in controlling hunger. You can have five to six soaked almonds with a glass of milk.
Makhana- It is lite and contains less calories. Makhana is full of calcium, iron and magnesium. it contains fibres in large amount. It is beneficial for diabetic patients also.
Seasonal fruits - Fruits help in reducing weight. Most of the fruits contain less calories and they give more energy.
Fruits like watermelon, cucumber are full of water and they help in burning calories. Try to have seasonal fruits regularly to maintain good health.
Green vegetables - It is also advised to have green vegetables as they not only contain vitamins and minerals but also have less calories. You can cook them in several ways to enhance the taste like boil the vegetable and add salt, black pepper etc. Beetroot also contains fibre and it can be eaten as salad or in the form of juice.
Peanut butter - Peanut butter generally contains less carbohydrates and more protein. It helps in reducing the blood sugar level. It is beneficial to eat peanut butter before having your meal.
Points to remember -
It is good to drink a glass of water every hour. It helps in the process of detoxification. Instead of having juice, try to eat fruits directly as they contain fibre. Avoid fried food and too much sugar. Have a balanced diet, enough sleep and exercise regularly.
Any diabetic, hypertension patient should consult to a doctor before making changes in the diet.
