Empty Stomach?.... Don't Eat These Foods

Food is a very important part of our life. It affects our overall health. What we eat in the morning has an impact on our whole day. There are several things which are beneficial if consumed empty stomach. Every food item has different nutritional value. Some of the foods which are beneficial for our health can harm us if they are consumed when the stomach is empty. So it is important to have some knowledge about this. Here is a list of things which you should not eat in the morning-

  • Tea/Coffee- Many people start the day with a cup of tea or coffee. It is not at all healthy. Drinking these after waking up I the morning can cause problem of gas. It can increase the level of hydrochloric acid (HCl) in the stomach. If you are habitual of taking tea or coffee then you can have it with biscuits or bread.
  • Citric fruits- Fruits are very beneficial for our health but eating them empty stomach is not beneficial. They contain high level of fiber and fructose which can slow down the digestive system.
  • Uncooked Vegetables- Try to avoid salad and uncooked vegetables when your stomach is empty. They do not get digested easily because of the amount of fiber in them. Eating them can cause problem such as stomach pain.
  • Banana- When a person eats banana empty stomach, the amount of magnesium in the body increases. This can create an imbalance of calcium and magnesium level.
  • Cold drinks- Drinking cold drinks when the stomach is empty can damage the mucus membrane and the digestive system slows down. That's the reason lukewarm drinks are suggested for an empty stomach.
  • Tomato- Tomatoes have several benefits but consuming it empty stomach can be harmful. They contain citric acid. Together with gastrointestinal acid, it can cause gas, pain etc. in the stomach.
  • Spicy food- The consumption of spicy and the food loaded with spices can create the problem of acidity in the stomach. If the food is too spicy, indigestion can also occur. 

Summing up

These were some food items that should be avoided when the stomach is empty. There are several other factors that determine the diet of an individual. Take care of yourself after all Health is Wealth.
