Bachelor Biryani Recipe

Hey people, welcome again I am Vaishali, this is my third blog if you missed my blog about skincare please give it a try.

Biryani is an emotion, who don't like biryani but this lockdown ditched us. so lets make a simple biryani with minimum ingredients , especially bachelors, come on lets get into the recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

  • ONIONS 3 MEDIUM SIZED
  • TOMATO  1 MEDIUM SIZED
  • GINGER GARLIC PASTE
  • CHICKEN ( HALF Kg ) IF VEGAN YOU CAN REPLACE WITH MUSHROOM, VEGGIES.
  • 2 HANDFULL OF MINT (PUDINA)
  • 1 HANDFULL OF CORIANDER
  • GREEN CHILLIS ( AS PER SPICE TOLERANCE ) MIN 5 IN NUMBER
  • BASMATHI RICE OR RICE OF CHOICE
  • CURD 2 tablespoons
  • CLOVES, STAR ANISE ,BAY LEAVES. - 1 each
  • OIL
  • GHEE
  • WATER AND SALT ( AS PER TASTE)

PROCEDURE:

Step 1 - Soak the rice for about 20 minutes, once it get soaked drain the water and keep it aside.

Step 2 - In a mixer grinder grinder add 2 handful of pudina and grind it separately , then add 1 handful of coriander and  grind it separately , then add green chilies and grind it .  NOTE-DONOT GRIND ALL  THREE  INGREDIENTS TOGETHER .

Step 3 - Heat a pan , add 2 table spoon of ghee and 2 table spoon of oil, add star anise ,bay leaves and gloves, then add chopped onions sauté it well .

Step 4 - Once the onion turns nice brown , add ginger garlic paste and cook it well for 2 minutes . then add the ground mint paste , ground coriander paste and ground chili paste in a gap of 2 mins of  sautéing.

Step 5- Add 2 tablespoon of curd , cook it well and then finally add tomatoes to it . once it get nice mushy add the chicken pieces or any veggies or mushrooms and  add some water let it cook for a minute. 

Step 6- Add the soaked rice , followed by water . Here in this recipe there is no particular measurement for water just add water an inch higher than the meat you have added. Add the required salt in this time.

Step 7 - Pressure cook for  2 whistles in medium flame and let the biryani sit in stove for about 15 minutes.

Step 8- Open after 15 minutes, yummy biryani is ready.

ince,  this is  bachelor biryani I have not added any extra chili powder and biryani powder. It is of your choice to lift the flavors.

Enjoy, the biryani with a super tasty raita, its a perfect manure for your stomach.
