Review of Varisu: It's a classic family drama with all the well-known elements. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, and Prakash Raj in addition to Vijay.
It should come as no surprise that major Southern filmmakers are still using the family drama genre to the absolute limit. This is one genre that has a very high success rate, despite the fact that the same tale structure has been used many times over the years.
It makes sense that Vamsi Paidipally, who is working with Vijay for the first time, is being very cautious with Varisu. It's your classic family drama with all the well-known rhythms, and one man, Vijay, saves most of it. He puts in a lot of effort and keeps the film entertaining to watch.
One of the most powerful businessmen in India, Rajendran (Sarath Kumar), is the protagonist of the family that is at the centre of the narrative. Jai and Ajay (Srikanth and Shaam), his two sons, manage his business, and one of them aspires to be the heir.
When Rajendran discovers one day that he has advanced-stage pancreatic cancer, he makes the decision to grant his wife's wish and celebrate his 65 th birthday in style. At his mother's request, Rajendran' s youngest son, Vijay Rajendran (Vijay), makes his seven-year return home for the birthday celebration.
After a falling out with his father about joining the family business, he had fled home. What transpires inside the family compels Vijay to return, and why does
Even though Varisu is predictable from the start, Vijay's presence alone helps it succeed. Vijay's recent work has mostly involved action flicks, so it was nice to see him having fun in a family-oriented movie. This movie really capitalises on Vijay's comedic side, and it works like magic.
Even someone who is not a fan of Vijay finds the performance to be effortlessly appealing. Vijay enters to divert and amuse whenever predictability sets in with his flawless portrayal of a son who ends up saving his family.
There isn't a single element that, aside from Vijay, defines Varisu. However, you won't regret seeing this movie with your family.
In an otherwise completely predictable picture, the familial moments—particularly the ones involving Vijay and Jayasudha, who plays the mother—work in part. The brothers' rivalry needed to have been more intense in order for the family drama angle to have been even more successful. Delivering exactly what the trailer promised is one thing the movie achieves well.
You won't be let down as a spectator if you went in with preconceived notions after seeing the trailer. Movie: Varisu Vamshi Paidipally, director Cast: Sarath Kumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Rashmika Mandanna, and Vijay
