Hello everyone, I am back with another review of another fantastic movie. Spirited away is a Japanese animated fantasy film released in 2001. A fun and adventurous movie which creates a beautiful environment among the audience. This was the first anime movie , I watched without crying.

Plot- 

10 year old chihiro (female lead) and her  parents are moving to their new house. Her father who always takes shortcuts ends up in front of a tunnel. Chihiro's parents insist on exploring whatever is behind that tunnel. Chihiro having a bad feeling about it requests them to leave the place but her parents ignored her. While exploring the place chihiro finds an abandoned bathhouse and a boy Haku (male lead). He warns her to leave the place before sunset. As chihiro was searching for her parents she finds out that her parents are turned into pigs and she was unable to escape before sunset. 

Haku finds her and promised her that he will help her and her parents to escape this place . He advised her to get a job from kamakaji, the boiler man of the bathhouse. Kamakaji asks Lin , a worker in the bathhouse to take her to yubaba, the witch who owns the bathhouse. Yubaba tries to scare her off but chihiro was persistent so yubaba hires her. Yubaba takes the second kanji from her name renaming her sen. Haku warns her to never forget her real name or she will not be able to escape the spirit world.

Sen is treated poorly by other workers in bathhouse. While working she invites ‘no face’ a silent creature into the bathhouse. A stink spirit visits the bathhouse and yubaba appoints him as Sen's customer. In gratitude for cleaning him , he gives sen a magic dumpling. Whereas no face attracts a worker with gold and then swallows him. He demanded food and started tipping heavily. He later swallows two more workers.

Sen notices paper shikigami attacking a Japanese dragon. She realises that the dragon was haku. Haku crashes into yubaba's penthouse. Sen follows him to the penthouse, a shikigami gets on her back and shape shifts into zeniba yubaba's twin sister. She turns yubaba's son boh into a mouse and mutates yubaba's harpy into a tiny bird as a decoy she turns yubaba's three tsurube-otoshi into boh. She tells sen that haku has stolen a magic golden seal from her it contains a deadly curse, haku wakes up and destroys the Shikigami. He falls into the boiler room with sen, boh and the harpy where sen feeds him part of the dumpling that stinking spirit gave to her causing him to vomit both the seal and black slug which sen crushes with her foot.

While Haku was unconscious sen decides to return the seal and apologize to zeniba. She confronts no face and feeds him rest of the dumpling, no face follows send out of the bath house. No face, boh and the harpy travels by the train to meet zeniba. Yubaba orders that sen's parents will be slaughtered but haku reveals that boh is missing and offers to retrieve him if yubaba releases Sen and her parents. 

The meet zeniba where she reveals that sen's love for haku already broke the curse and told her that yubaba used the black slug to control Haku. Haku appears at zeniba's home in the form of a dragon and flies sen, boh and the harpy to the bathhouse, no face decides to live with zeniba. During the flight sen recalls following into the kohaku river and being washed safely ashore, which helped haku to recall his real identity as the spirit of the river and free him from yubaba's spell.

When they arrived at the bathhouse yubaba forces sen to identify her parents from the group of the pigs. She answers correctly that none of the pigs was her parents. She is now free to go. Haku take her to now dry river bed and promised to meet her again. Chihiro returns through the tunnel with her parents who do not remember anything after eating at the restaurant stall. She looks back at the tunnel unsure if that adventure really happened. When they reached their car they find it covered in dust and leaves but drive of towards their new home.

Review- 

I really liked this movie. After watching spirited away a little kid inside me came out. I really think it's quite refreshing movie. I searched online if there is going to be another part becoz I really wanted to know if haku and chihiro met again but I guess it's not gonna happen. Their sweet love story was a cherry on the top. Animation and the characters were really remarkable. I would love to watch more movies like this one.
