Liveliness Still Alive, Listen To That

There is almost 21 km to travel in a bus on daily basis… It never occurred to me in the process of me getting in the bus plug in the earphones and rush to work until a day where I started to step out of my fantasy world and saw the actual happenings around me.

I used to see the same poster in the far corner of the wall on one spot…One day the bus stopped longer than I expected on the same spot where the poster is much visible to me. The poster looks like a ‘W’ and says 'Work'. I always smile thinking of the irony of the poster which is placed very next to the office building.

There is a spot on the way where I can see so many people are waiting in a queue for the daily wages job opportunity, next to that I saw a man who is painting the walls just so no one pees on it… He is so confident and casual in his painting didn't notice my eyes travel along with the brushes he strokes and pause he make to do the right postures of the figure but the bus always betrays me by moving faster than it is.

There is a little acquaintance in the walk-over bridge - a white dog who is always sad never eats or sleeps, drenched in rain or hot. I use to greet him knowing well no one notices me early in that morning talking to a dog and waiting for his response. but he is cute in a mature way.

There is a stop near one cute little old-style home where 3 male college students live… when the bus pulled on that stop we can see about the fights of who gets into the bathroom first or the other day all were splashing water on each other deciding to bathe outside so no one uses the luxury of four walls with no roof and half torn door.

I also see… No…. witnessed so many homeless kids sleeping on the platform with no cover on them for not catching a cold. They hug each other closely and sleep in their 4 sq. ft platform home with one blanket barely trying to cover them all. It is cozy and lovely., like having nothing in our hand gives another whole lot of freedom & enjoyment not to care about anything.

Our driver always gets his breakfast from the market road which is super busy even early in the morning. He stops the bus in the corner and makes the conductor get the parcel and we wait to watch the scene with only water in our stomachs for 8 more minutes. But for sure when someone asks to stop 3 ft away from the signal he won't stop the bus and ask the person to go for the bus stop… Professionalism to the core…

There is always a routine of these things happen in my travel…

Drivers shout at the fellow other driver justifying his driving skills

The loooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg annoyyyying horn in the toll knowing well the car in front of us is getting is pass verified and the gate is about to open…

Stopping the bus with only 6 passengers and Ticket checker enters and checks the tickets just bcoz they wanted to do that.

A sudden break is the favorite time pass for the drivers it seems like they throw us out even before the stops arrive. If not the automatic doors we will be thrown out as like the newspaper boy throwing the paper in the houses.

Even in full rushes with all the back bags are struggling to get in and to keep one leg on the surface the other in the air, whilst the conductor wanders around the moving bus like a breezy walk on the beach to do the ticket works, sometimes hats off to those hard workers

But in the end, when I get down from the bus either to the destination is the office or home these silly and equally, laugh later stuff make me feel lively around the digital and fantasy world.

If you have such kind of experience - share it.

-Yours Venu

In this chaos where we only notice the destination without enjoying these small things, I find it very fascinating to see that you have noticed all these little things that make you happy. Thanks for reminding us to appreciate these small things.
