Religion - A Boon Or Curse??

Hello everyone. My name is Vedang Pandey. I'm nobody, noone, nothing. Just a thinker and today I'm going to share my thoughts to all of you through this article.

Religion. It is an inseperable part of our society, our country and our world. Everyone in our society belongs to some or other religion. Even they ask ‘Religion’ in a school/college admission form or a Job application form. Before filling the answer for ‘Religion’ in those forms, have you ever thought about, ‘What exactly a religion is?'

Okay, let's understand what the society thinks religion is. According to the society, our religion describes us, our hobbies, our standard of living, our morals. If I am a hindu, I'm a specific type of person, If I'm a christian, I'm a specific type of person. People would behave to me accordingly. If I'm a hindu, then according to my standards and morals, I do not like to live with someone who belongs to some other ‘specific’ religion and if I'm a muslim, I do not like to live with someone who belongs to some other ‘specific’ religion because the standard of living of all the religions are different. What they eat, what they speak, what they understand, what they like and dislike are all different. So, that's why I, being a different religion person, do not like to live with some different religion person.

But, why is that so? In our school's assembly, we all made a pledge, “India is my country, and all Indians are my brothers and sisters.” Even in the Rigveda and Maha Upanishada, it's written “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” - means the whole earth is a family. If we all are a family, then despite of such difference, we should accept each other's thoughts, love each other, take care of each other.

But the problem is that we have fought so much, that it's going to be really difficult for people for even making mind about accepting each other. If you make a search in google, you'll find a huge hate and vulgarity about different religions. People talk vulgar about each other's religions. They talk about increasing the population of their religion, but they forget about the world. What if there is no world, will there be any people to follow any religion? The world's population is increasing every second. And if the population keeps on increasing at this rate, there are not enough resources for everyone to use. Do they think what will happen then? Where will all the religions go, when there will be no water and food? Will you think about giving something to your family or will you still want to increase the population?

What they have done to each other can't be undone, but if they want, they can forgive each other, for a better future of the whole world. If we want to see a peaceful and better world, where there are no wars, we need to forget all the standards that divide us. We need to promote love and peace for a heavenly world and we all have to cooperate each other in that. If one brother is sensible and the second is not, the sensible one is responsible to end the fight by peace. If both the brothers will keep argue that “Why me everytime?” Then the fight will never end and there will be no peace. And without peace, there will be no development.

Religions teach us many things. So, they should be a source of knowledge, not the reason of war and divisions. The politicians take advantage of this social issue and in every elections, that keep dividing us. But we have to be sensible. We have to be aware. We have to take the responsibility for the peace of this world.

We have to save our family. How? By not judging the standards of everyone, by accepting everyone's likes and dislikes, by adjusting a bit. This world is not a battlefield, in which different countries fight and make it a hell. This world is an opportunity, to reflect the beauty of our mind on it. By not harming anyone, including people and animals. By spreading positivity, love and care. BY NOT BEING A HINDU, MUSLIM, SIKH OR CHRISTIAN, but by being a HUMAN. BY NOT SPREADING HINDUISM, ISLAM OR CHRISTIANITY, BUT BY SPREADING HUMANITY AND LOVE.

BE ONE, BE HUMAN.
