The other day I went out for a bike ride. The winds were cold and moist as it had just rained. The sky was partly cloudy and purple in color. As I was driving around, I felt a deep sense of peace. The beautiful view made me happy. That is when I thought to myself what we seek is always near us, we just have to look around!

 Earlier, when I used to come across some travel post on Instagram, I wondered where will I find such a place. Too far away from here maybe…

I have always wanted to be a traveler, to roam the world is my passion. But the pandemic does not allow us to roam. It tells us to stay home and stay safe! Now I have realized that to be a traveler you first have to be an observer.

If we do not even look out the window, to see the sky change its color, to see the hills turn greener when the season changes, how can we appreciate the excellence of the Eiffel tower, the beauty of the Niagara Falls and the uniqueness of the great barrier reef?

When we will learn to do this, we will have an access to unlimited adventures. The fact that the road by your house leads to an unknown, unseen destination should be enough inspiration to set out in the search of one. This place need not be far away. We can start with a walk on our usual route and take a turn we have never taken! We all have some such turns which we always wanted to explore.

Maybe that one turn would take you a completely different world. That place might have a specific architecture, something peculiar. It can have a beautiful view, or a café we have never even heard of. The place can be remote village whose every house has an amazing panting by the door.  Or maybe it will be the nothing different from what we have seen earlier. 

Either way we win. Because we just explored the unknown! We got the secret of travelling! 

The secret is that we explore!  We get out our hotel room, not book a taxi, neither google “Must visit places”, we just get out. Take a right maybe. Walk slowly, observe this new place. If we find something we have never seen before, BRAVO! If we find nothing new then we learn that tomorrow we will take left from the hotel. But believe me we will always find something new.   

We have to appreciate the beauty around us to enjoy travelling to its fullest!!
