India is a vast land with a rich & long history dated thousands of years ago. There are various pieces of evidence of various famous things that originated from India.
Indus Valley Civilization built along the river Indus was believed to one of the first civilizations developed. Our ancient religious books told of the things & practices used in that time.
Out of many things which are originated from India, today sharing with you all 3 famous things to start with.
In early 2000 BCE, the spice trade started in the Indian subcontinent with cinnamon & black pepper. Then it extended to East Asia.
Initially, spices are used for medicinal purposes. Slowly, people started experimenting with spices & their enhancing flavors.
Spices are the soul of Indian food. The Britishers invaded India for its spices. They exported large chunks to their country. Rest is the history!
You can see US drinking fennel or cinnamon tea or turmeric latte! Or the EU studying the beneficial properties of chilies!
During Middle Ages, Kozhikode was termed as the βCity of Spicesβ for its role as the major exporting point of Eastern spices.

Yes! Buttons have been discovered in Indus Valley Civilization. They were used as ornaments initially. At that time, buttons were made from seashells. Holes pierced into them were used for passing the thread.
In the 5th century AD, the Roman empire started using buttons as a means to close cuffs & necks of tunics.

Yoga was originated in India.
There was enough evidence of yoga being practiced since the time of the Indus valley civilization. Seals & fossil remains of the Indus Saraswati valley depicted the carvings of yogis sitting in a meditative position. Seals of idols found suggested Tantra Yoga too.
Maharishi Patanjali classified the existing Yoga practices & knowledge through yoga sutras. After him, many sages preserved & developed the yoga field with well-documented literature.
B.K.S. Iyengar was the founder of Iyengar Yoga. He is considered the foremost yoga guru in the world.
Meditation is one of the practices in yoga. It is the art of letting go of all the thoughts in mind. Practice being present in the moment. Being aware & conscious of our breath & body is the basis of meditation
It helps in calming the minds of people & helps them in becoming peaceful.
