It's the scorching summer and I am doing my evening walk and all I can think is to drink water from the earthern pot. 

Earthen pots are old age method to store and drink water, what a brilliant technology.

I remember roaming around jaipur , in the afternoon , feeling extremely thirsty and there I see almost after every 2-3 km a earthen pot kept for anybody to enjoy the cold water 💦 .

Cooling the water without the use of electricity , something which can be made as bare as mud and what a designery. Sure only indians can know how to do use the minimal and raw resource to make something so advanced.

There are some benefits of using earthen pots.

1. Keeping the water cool - the earthen pots contain small pores in it which help the air evaporate and hence cooling it down.
2. Makes the water alkaline- The water that we mostly drink is little acidic because of the chemicals added to it. The clay pot due to mud makes its alkaline. And alkalinity is much better for our body.
3. Helps in better digestion - The water we drink has some added chemicals, so the water that we drink from earthen clay pots kind of neutralises it and make our digestive system clean and helps in digestion.
4. Earthen pots are also used to cook food and store food - like the handi biryani. And it brings out a totally different amazing taste.
5. Earthen pots are eco- friendly- the pots are made out of the mud by the potters  using the clay. It will be decomposed into the soil itself. 

I have recently started using earthen pots and I suggest you to do the same. These pots should be replaced every 3-4 months since they loose their property.

Also buying earthen pots from the potters and local markets boosts their economy. Mostly in today era , the world of online shopping the worst people affected are the local markets, the thela wala and side road small shops who don't have a smartphone to assist their business online. So by buying these pots it helping those people a lot as well.

I also have a small side clay pot at my study table. Keeps my hydrated throught out the day. 

Earthen pots are great example of sustainable living and a great switch for eco-friendly living.

And most importantly the water tastes amazing and cool .
