How Does A Vaccine Work?

With corona virus still lurking around, we were lucky enough to have a vaccine with us in no time.

But how does this vaccine actually protect us from only that particular disease.

So to understand there are two types of vaccine one is live and one is toxoid. Essentially  in a vaccine they mix up some chemicals and add the actualy virus that's causing the disease. So in case of live virus , the virus is actually living like a living organism and in case of toxoid they are dead.

But why don't it cause us the infection then? Let's suppose the virus has 2 proteins structure in its body A AND B.The A Protein causes infection and leads to fever , cough etc and B Protein causes the antibodies in our body.

So in the vaccine they essentially put just B Protein in order to just produce some antibiotics. And the chemicals added just enhances the property.

Now how does the body respond. So essentially when we have a virus infecting our body some thing called as T-cell and antibodies are produces only against that 🦠 virus. There is also something called as t- cell helper which helps recognising the particular virus. If suppose during the first infection 100 antibodies were produced so now in consecutive infection by the same virus, the antibodies produced will be 10 times more than the initial and hence your body will suffer no infection and that's because of t- helper cells.

That's exactly what's happening with vaccine, we are giving the dead or live virus so that our body can recognise the virus and produce antibodies and enought antibodies the next time.

Vaccines have been effective since ages. Disease like small pox, polio in india have been eradicated only due to invent of vaccines and many disease of childhood like measles, rubella, mumps , polio, tetanus, whooping cough,  rabies are all under control.

Vaccines need to be taken by the children ages 0-7 years and to the teenagers and sometimes in adults like in case of hepatitis, rabies and right now corona.

Vaccines usually might have some side-effects like fever and itching and pain at the site, but it's better than the havoc the disease causes , it saves life.

I hope you encourage everyone around you to take the vaccine and protect themselves, and if your not satisfied with the vaccine formula and how it works, do a research yourself and don't just believe anyone, it will save many lives.
