How I Became An 'Otaku'?

First of all,

HELLO EVERYONE! LONG TIME NO WRITINGS FROM MY SIDE... I wish all the readers my enjoy these types of blogs.

So getting back to the topic, first of all, many of you might know, but, surely many of you might be curious about the word or term 'otaku'. So what is otaku? Or what does it mean?

Well according to the Oxford Dictionary, 'otaku' is a Japanese word. And an 'otaku' is a young person who is obsessed with computers or particular aspects of popular culture to the detriment of their social skills.

Very technical, right! Still Can't understand the meaning yet?

So, in simple terms, mainly from Japanese point of view, 'otaku' describes people with consuming interests, particularly in anime and manga. Its contemporary use originated with a 1983 essay by Akio Nakamori in Manga Burikko.

I am not going to any details about manga and anime here. I may write about these in the near future.

Now got it, right?! I hope you all do!

Have you ever heard of the TV channel named - 'Animax'? I guess many of you might be. Well, now it had already been replaced by Sony Yay in our Indian TV, because of many reasons. One of the reasons is surely the low TRP rate. There were many hit animes that had been shown in in the Animax, like - Naruto, One punch Man, Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball Zee, etc.

SOOO... NOSTALGIC! RIGHT?

So, I started becoming interested in animes and mangas during my late teens. Before that I have never ever heard  about any of the terms related to it.

I began watching Animax channel from time to time, searching for something interesting to watch. And you know what I got? 'Pretty Rhythm : Aurora Dream', a typical girls' based anime. With all the beautiful characters to my liking and the graphics that can catch the heart of a typically girly girl, my journey of anime began from its first season first episode to it last season last episode. It has three seasons with 52 episodes each. And I really liked the story, too.

I watched it before going to college during my breakfast. All my family members got frustrated with this habit of mine and started to nag me. But, all I can say that, it had became an obsession for me at that time. So, even with all those nagging, I continued it and it became a daily routine for me to watch it before going to college. After sometime, all the nagging came to an end, when they started to see that it had no effect on me.

I became very upset when the first season came to end and wished for it go much longer. But what a surprise I got to see the very next day, the second season of it. Though the main characters changed, I still enjoyed it. So I hoped for there to have a third season too. And guess what? My wish came true. Although, this happiness of mine had short lived, that is, only for five months, but still it feels very nostalgic to me till this date and I guess it will continue to be.

I am not going with much details about this show as this is a blog where I only want to share my experience with you all. If you come to have any interest in it, you may search it in the Youtube and check it out, whether it gets your preferences or not.
