My, Since watching the trailer, I've been looking forward to this film's release, and I can honestly say that I don't have any complaints.🤷🏾‍♂️ Since it gives us a smooth ride the entire time, I'm not sure if I should call it a fire or not, but this actually transported me back to the comedy movie production techniques of yore. In my opinion, it got off to a good start with a few insensitive jokes scattered throughout, some of which were perhaps borderline offensive to someone. Today, it's a little difficult to keep up. The tone gradually changes after that. Although there were occasional ups and downs in the pacing, it was generally steady and predictable. In the movie PAINT, Owen Wilson plays Carl Nargle, Vermont's top public television painter who believes he has it all: a signature perm, a custom van, and followers who watch his every brushstroke. However, everything (and everyone) Carl loves is stolen by a younger, better artist. PG-13 rating (drugs, smoking, and suggestive/sexual content). Variety: Comedy Language of Origin: English Brit McAdams is the director. Producers: Sam Maydew and Peter Brant Brit McAdams is the author Release Date: April 7, 2023 in theatres Release Date: May 9, 2023 (Streaming) Gross domestic box office: $811.5K 1 hour 36 minutes. IFC Films is the distributor. Balcony 9 Productions, Sony Pictures, Blue Creek Pictures, Silver Lining Entertainment, and White Birch Films are the production companies. 1.85:1 aspect ratio, flatIn "Paint," an ageing TV star with jokey hair and a legendary libido rules over his superfans, blinded by the cocoon of fame and oblivious to his increasingly diminishing importance. It's okay if that description seems uncomfortably similar; "Paint" is not a political parody. It is harder to pinpoint exactly what it is: A depressing fusion of small-town mindset and giant-sized illusion; a dull romantic comedy that weirdly feels dismissive of female desire; a picture of a landscape artist who rarely goes outside. One woman exclaims, "They all fall for Carl," though it's still unclear why in this movie why they do. She's talking about Vermont's top public television painter, Carl Nargle (an invariably mellow Owen Wilson). Even if we ignoreThanks to JustWatch It's really difficult to distinguish Bob Ross from "Paint." Yes, Owen Wilson shares the same afro, pillowy whisper, and enthusiasm for capturing iconic scenes from nature. But in reality, this is the tale of Vermont-based public access personality Carl Nargle, who lost his local notoriety due to a creative slump and some bad interactions with female coworkers. Ross, however, looms over this movie. One reason is that writer-director Brit McAdams uses the resemblance to draw viewers in and let them imagine what a "Owen Wilson as Bob Ross movie" might be like. Ross presents a placid exterior, but McAdams struggles to reveal his troubled side by referencing the fact that the real Ross had an affair with a business colleague
