Well the answer is quite simple, earlier flowers used to be in the garden but now the garden is in these small flower pots. People do not have enough time and space to maintain a garden. They keep the inside environment of your home fresh and also holds ornamental or decorative value.

1.Snake Plant: This Plant is known by various names such as Mother in law's tounge, bird's nest and many more. Scientific name for this plant is Sansevieria Trifasciata. The broader and beautiful green shaded leaves of snake plant adds a dash of ornamental value to your house, cleans indoor air by removing CO2 and such harmful gases. These can grow in shady and in light conditions as well and plus no need to water them daily.

2. Aloe vera : The scientific name for this plant is barbadensis. We all very well about the medicinal properties of this plant, in addition to its cosmetic value. The pet name for Aloe Vera is "Miracle Plant". The thick fleshy and green leaves of this plant gives it a dash of decorative value, and contains the aloe gel which is of great medicinal value. You can even apply the aloe gel directly to your face it can heal your pimple, their marks, gives your skin a glow and other skin related issues. Aloe juice is also very good for health. However, you need to do a bit or moderate hard work to maintain this plant, it requires bright, sunny environment to grow so you can place it near any window of your house. These plants are vegetatively propagated which means if you cut a leave and plant it another pot then eventually it regrows into a complete plant with time.

3. Lucky Bamboo Plant: The scientific name for this plant is Dracaena Braunii. This plant is a symbol of happiness, luck and prosperity. According to Feng shuii, the more no of stalks of this plant are ligated or tied together, the more will the fortune, prosperity or happiness. These bamboo plants of 2-3 feet in height can be found anywhere in our country; homes and offices. However, these plants need to be kept in clean water all the time and requires a bit shady environment to grow. So, requires a moderate level of maintenance.
