Lets try the text book come alive, lets try and push that lesson 1 step outside the framework. All you need is imagination, the love of your subject and the love of children. This digital year we really have to push that idea and it has held us steady throughout the learning teaching process. We abruptly closed in March 2020 and june when school began within 10 days the government shutdown. I remember thinking to myself this can't be happening. we cannot go down on our knees, we cannot and my teachers very strongly agreed, we cannot stop learning for our little ones.What can we do so we streched that middle school experiment into primary school where we linked learning to life, before i share more details about this ideas a reason for this experiment i believe that classroom memories survive a person life time, school memories can be the most cherished or the most cringe worthy and i believe that it is the job of every teacher to build the happiest, the most empowering of school memories for our students. we need afirmative classrooms where children feel a sense of accomplishment, a sense of achievements. No child needs to feel the sense of fear of wrong answer and every child view must count in classroom discussions let me share two memories of my school days i was in grade 2 it was english class and the teacher was teasing us with spelling of irregular verbs so we came to this verb die funny that the memory has not been died. teacher asked us can you spell the verb in its continuous form off we went playing with letters and sounds. D I E I NG no DAING no we there was cacophony of words, letter and sounds playing across the room and suddenly i blurted out D Y I N G. Yes she said for a seven year old that moment of joy and success has never gone its there and it still has a warm glow inside. Teacher make them fall in love with your subject you are the qualified brand ambassador for your subject who knows when they are taking away that novel price they will be thanking you for what you trigerred in their middle school class. I personally know many children who are the victims of this lockdown and i am doing my part.
