Have you ever read a Sudha Murty book ? If not you should . I love reading Sudha Murty books . It all started when I picked my first one from the book store at the railway station .

I always felt Railway stations provide the best possible locations for a book store. It's immensely pleasurable to go through various books especially when you are waiting for a train . It happened so that I was waiting for the train to go to my hometown and i had some time to kill . As usual I went to the book store and started browsing.

And there amidst the number of books I found my first Sudha Murty book - Three Thousand Stitches . It's about extraordinary lives of ordinary people .

The reason I picked this book was , first it was small in size , less number of pages ,i could finish it in my travelling time and it seemed to be interesting. Also i knew that Sudha Murty was the wife of Narayan Murty the Infosys co-founder.

Once my journey to home began i took out the book from my bag and started reading it . The first thing i realised was that the writer had this uncanny ability to connect the reader with her stories. You feel as if everything is happening infront of your eyes. Also the language used is so simple you never have to refer to any dictionary. I began to read Three Thousand Stitches at the start of my train journey and finished it by the time i was about to reach my hometown. While reading i dint even realise the time passing by and that probably is every writers dream.

Since then i have been hooked to Sudha Murty books . Whenever i get time i tried to find one and read one .

My present collection includes -

  1. Three Thousand Stitches
  2. Wise and Otherwise
  3. The Man from the Egg
  4. The Upside Down King
  5. The Old Man and His God
  6. The Serpents Revenge
  7. The Day I stopped drinking Milk
  8. How I taught my Grandmother to read
  9. The Magic Drum
  10. The Magic of the Lost Temple
  11. Grandma's bag of stories
  12. The Bird with the Golden Wing

I would urge all the readers to go through her books . The simplicity of the stories is just amazing . Also the stories themselves have such beautiful meanings . There is a moral hidden inside each of the stories . Also there is such amout of positivity in them .

Sudha Murty is part of the Infosys Foundation which has been working for long for the betterment of the less privileged sections of the society. Heading this wonderful organization she comes across many people who are in need each having a story of his own . But it's one thing to know about a story, it's another to write so wonderfully about it . I'm sure she must be working hard in this Covid times helping people in need . It's inspirational to see such a woman much older than us working tirelessly and writing such wonderful stories.

Her stories are a bundle of joy in these gloomy days of Covid .
