Oh noooooo!!! What has happened!!! My one source of entertainment amidst the gloomy backdrop of Covid is postponed. 

This news came just now ,may be by the time this blog is published it will be few hours old. After yesterday's news of 2 players in KKR camp and one coach and one staff from CSK tested positive, today  Wriddhiman Saha from Sunrisers Hyderabad and Amit Mishra from Delhi Capitals have tested positive for the virus . This means that now both the camps at Delhi and Ahemdabad are now affected with Covid . Considering this the BCCI under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly has decided to postpone this season of IPL . 

Watching IPL in the evenings was a good way to somehow get away from the daily dose of negativity that Covid is spreading. Everytime we watch TV , everytime we open WhatsApp or go on social media there is Covid news everywhere. And for someone who is recovering from Covid , this much of negativity is too much. IPL was a get away from this. 

The decision has been taken considering the safety of players and after this decision all players will return to their families including the foreign players. 

I'm really curious as to how the players and coaching staff contacted Covid. Considering that they were in a safe bio bubble,  how could Covid virus make an entry in this very safe environment. This shows us even after taking all possible precautions the Covid virus is affecting people. These players never left their designated bio bubbles , they hopped from grounds to their hotel rooms , also their travel was fully secure. 

The fact they still got affected shows the severity of this deadily virus. So if even after taking so many precautions players are getting affected what should normal people do ? 

I have seen the photos and videos of players traveling in PPE kits with masks and face shields on their faces , with gloves in their hands looking like blue aliens . 

Man on the street doesn't were PPE kit , nor he has any gloves or face shield just a mask. Covid is really getting in the heads of people now. It's not only a big physical problem but also a huge mental issue. And one way out of this Covid fatigue was IPL.

This was the 14th edition of IPL and this was supposed to be the year RCB( Royal Challengers Banglore ) finally wins the trophy.  Although CSK , DC and MI were in the hunt too. Last few nights we had seen some wonderful matches , from hundreds by Dev Dutt Padikal and Jos Buttler , 99 by Mayank Agarwal , the destructive batting by Ambati Rayudu to the match wining innings of Kieron Pollard , IPL 2021 was blossoming . 

Now i dont want to end my evenings watching news . Maybe there is bright light at the end anyways - CANDLEMONK
