The Age Of Digital And Social Media - To Be Or Not To Be!

This topic has been on my mind since quite sometime now, and it is one of the most addressed topics too.

We see a lot of content and news on digital platforms like Candle monk, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and many such digital applications and websites. So many things are there for us to see, listen and take in. It sometimes becomes too overwhelming.

Especially with social media, the pretty post of people, food and places. It's like everyone is taking pictures not for memories but for posting them online. I personally also kept myself updated and posted regularly. But with time and see everyone run thus digital supremacy race, I was just exhausted! It was too much, posting with new outfits, new locations, the gram- able food even if it tasted horrible afterwards. This culture of outing everything out there was too much for me. I know some actually make a living out of it, and it's there personally choice. Nothing against them, but just that it was not my cup of tea.

Many influencers use filters in their cameras to look good or slim and then post on social media. Even in live sessions they will use such filters. And often people are fooled regarding their actual appearances. We then have high expectations in real life and often hurt our morale in the process. We aspire to look like them in real life, but the fact is even they do not look like themselves in real life. Many followers spent a great deal of their time, money and energy to be like the influencers they follow and admire, but all in vain. Some influencers often promote products because they are paid to but we blindly follow and may try out products that are seldom beneficial in actual life.

But nowadays, many have realized that all that is on the web is not true. And that it is pointless and worthless to chase such un-accomplishable goals for ourselves. Many celebrities and influencers are coming forward with no filters and no makeup photos and videos to inspire young boys and girls that it's really not all that glam and oomph, after all.

There may be still a handful of people who still prefer filters and apps to beautify themselves. But many people are now aware that setting impossible beauty standards has to be put to an end. It hampers mental health and social behavior of people in a very unnatural way.

Nobody is and was ever supposed to look like Barbie and Ken!
