Mental Health & Communication

In the year 2018, I had read an article where it was mentioned that by the year 2020 depression will be the 2nd most cause for death, whereas cardiac arrest is the 1st.

As we all know that nowadays the mental health has become the biggest issue to resolve, so many organizations, doctors, and counselors are designing various kinds of therapies and helping loads of people around. Because this COVID-19 has made it more difficult for many people to sit ideal, losing jobs, away from family, suffering from COVID-19, and the list goes on. Giving therapy for needy people has become the business in the market nowadays, which is a secondary big topic if we go on discussing, whereas some are helping genuinely and working hard to improve the environment.

In the olden days the workstations, hospitals, colleges, etc were the places, and the environment used to cause stress in the people leading to depression and many other mental illnesses. Teens to early thirties are the victims and those who fell under weak mentally committed suicide when they couldn't control their sufferings. It continued even now but people are broader now in terms of seeking help from others despite having fear of getting judged by others.

Everyone is going through something or other problems that they are unable to handle or share with others. Even the happiest looking person might be dying inside daily we are just unaware so being kind is coming into a trend nowadays. It's not an easy task, everything looks fancy from the outside from going to the office daily to getting paid by the end of the month. But the real problem lies inside the daily routine and after the salary day, paying out all the debits and living with almost nothing and many more kills a person daily little by little. If we talk about the causes and the lifestyle changes it's a never-ending topic. We can conduct a debate on it and hit the top too.

Coming back to the discussion of finding solutions to all these mental tortures, people often find it difficult to see for help or therapy, because our society is designed like that: people who take therapy are the Pagals. OMG! I never knew this. The list of the names reaches infinity. Commonly, we become lawyers if we have problems and we become judges if others have problems. I can take therapy because I know what I'm dealing with. But, if you are taking therapy then you have gone mad/crazy/pagal. I told you na list goes on.

Coming back to the mental health or depression which the larger population is combatting primarily occurs due to the feeling of left out, communication gap, not being appreciated, not being loved or cared for or concerned, etc.

Now you tell me, how many times a day you hug your family members? How many times a week or month you talk to them? Or to your friends? With how much patience and care you listen to them or let them speak to you? Do I need to consider it as Zero times? We often don't communicate but just by asking, how are you doing? Is everything okay? Puts a front person at a lot of ease. Communication is the main cause and the main solution to cure anything related to mental illnesses. Where doing meditation, walking in the nature, writing down the emotions and painting, etc are the next solutions present in the list.

So communicate. It takes just 5 to 10 seconds to send a text saying, β€œwhat's up?” Assure your loved ones saying that you are just one text or one call away if things fall out of control or in any situation. It's just a matter of appreciation. Everything comes back into the normal state by these small gestures.

Seeking therapy is the best thing, fuck what others think of you taking therapy, they do not know what are you going through or how to help you even at times. All they know is talking about rubbish. So talk it out, seek help. It's said that if something lasts more than 48hours and keeps you sad or low then talk about it to your person. Have healthy and tension free life ahead, because you deserve it

I think you should mention your contact details so it helps anyone to reach out to you. Explaining more about the work you do helps too in gaining clarity.
