As an Indian, we have taught many Illogical things since childhood, these are superstitions. These are passed from one generation to other generation and are believed by everyone without asking any questions. Each superstition have a logic and science behind it. And some are just for the rumours which are passed like fire. 

So, today we will discuss some superstitions and logic behind them. 

1 Don't cut your nails at night - all the children are told not to cut there nails at night or in evening. I believe that in earlier times there was very little light during evening or night and there were no nail cutter kind of things. People used blades or knife to cut nails which was much dangerous at night due to dim lights so they would have stopped children to cut nails at night. But now a days there are facilities so we can. 

2 Women are impure during periods-  It's 21st century and in many places it is now also it is  believed that women are impure during their periods. In earlier times there were no proper medication or facilities available. So women were allowed to rest during their days of periods and don't do certain tasks which are not much important. Since then people believed that women are not allowed to do many chores during there periods. 

3 Peepal trees - It is believed that you should not sit near or under any peepal tree at night as ghost live at tree at night. The reason behind it is that trees breathe in  oxygen and breathe out carbondioxide at night and we should keep some distance from trees at night as they will surround us with a huge amount of carbondioxide and can make us uncomfortable. 

4 Brooming at night - our parents usually stop us to broom at night or in evening. In earlier times there were very less facilities of light and electricity. So, it was said not to broom during night as any of the important things could be thrown out with garbage but now a days there is so much lighting in the houses that we can broom easily without any loss. 

5 Green chilli and lemon -  Many people believe that green chilly and lemon keep us away from the bad energy or negativity. In earlier times people used to take green chilli and lemon with them as it can be useful on the way. Just like lemon can be applied on wounds as it contains citric acid and green chilli can be used in can thief came or while eating food on the way. 

 There are many superstitions which do not have any logic behind them.
