You Accepted Me For Who I Am

I honestly can't remember half the things that we talked about, but it was really nice.

A relationship or friendship isn't just between two people. It is a bond of every conversation that we have, every memory that we create, every challenge that we overcome and every promise that we make.

Most of the time, we don't even remember how we started talking or what we talked about on a particular occasion but all we know is that feeling. We remember how content we'd feel after every conversation.

It is a feeling of having found a shed on a scorching June afternoon, a feeling of satisfaction and gratitude.

With you, I would always feel at ease. I knew that you wouldn't judge me for my choices or opinions or play with my insecurities or flaws. You accepted me for who I am. You laughed at my pjs and cheered me up every time I had a bad day. You were that shoulder I could lean on after a breakdown and you'd hug me with open arms.

You were my safe space, my haven. We had our ups and downs but I knew I could trust you with everything. The memories that we created after getting drunk and the lessons we taught each other every day will always remind me of how warm some bonds are.

I would always remember the sound of your laugh, the sound of us ‘not trying to make a sound while crying’, our secret but knowing exchange of glances and the way my heart would be so full just after having a five-minute call with you.

And if we may have grown apart now, I would always be grateful for you, your love and your magical ability to make me feel at home even in the most difficult situations.

It's a cold evening and you're on the terrace, doing nothing. You watch the clouds change their shapes. There's harmony in this silence. Your favourite song plays on loop.

You realise, you can't always be about long paragraphs and metaphors. Sometimes, you just want to be simple sentences.

You like the quietness. It's been a while since you felt this way - where you just sat alone with your thoughts.

You realise, you won't find peace on a monday morning or in a person. you have to find it within yourself.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day ahead!
