We are adult now, but we all have so many memories of each and every phase of our life which we have seen till now. Some are bad, some are happy.
All throughout life I have had certain vivid memories of some days or events which have made or shaped my life in certain ways. Some are just memories, some are things which I associate with those memories which bring warmth in the monotony of every day life.
i. My grandmother's peach printed handkerchief which had a key tied to one end. It used to sit at a corner of her cabinet, because the key opened the treasure box she sometimes rewarded us with, chocolates and hopes.
ii. The weekend visits to our farmhouse where we planted trees of our childhood and watched them grow.
iii. The cracked table tennis ball which still sits in it's cover, waiting for me to open it. But I let it stay, just to reminiscence it from above.
iv. The books collected over the years, kept in different drawers. Apart from the story they have inside, some of them have another story linked with them, for me to read and re-read.
v. The hostel room where nothing was in order, yet nothing has ever felt more homely than those chaos. The laughter, the heartbreak, the joy and those little giggles and make-up sessions still feel fresh in my mind.
vi. A little note kept in a black bag, along with coins of different countries, like a memorabilia. Maybe years later, it'll be safe to take them out.
vii. A stack of Polaroids kept inside a blue purse with my favourite people on some of the best days. Those pictures were supposed to be hung and decorated, but I like them kept at a place where they are safe, just like those moments.
viii. A strong, hot cup of coffee at a distant airport which made me realise that nothing ever stops, be it people, opportunities or the world.
ix. A new city which feels overwhelming, strange and welcoming all at once. Roaming in its streets with a mellow song on loop, it reminds me to breathe and to get lost, also, to find myself somewhere around the corner.
What are your favourite memories that you cherish always? Di let me know in the comments. Thank you for reading and supporting. Have a great day ahead.
