We all have so many ambitions in life. Right? Be it a student, who have to study, give exams and complete assignments. Be it someone preparing for exams, who have to give their best, so to pass or even top the exam. Be it someone who want to pursue a job, they have to prepare for it. It might not take time to decide what we want in life, but we don't really do what we should do to achieve it. There is sometimes a feeling that tells you that you can do it tomorrow or in the next moment. You tell yourself “It's fine, relax for a while on social media, scroll through the web, or watch stand up comedy or movie or web series .”

If we left things for tomorrow or for the next moment, we will end up wasting our time. And ofcourse tomorrow never come. This is something called as procrastination. Why do we human procrastinate? We procrastinates frequently in our day to day life. But why do we do so? Think about the things you procrastinate doing. When you have to prepare for an exam or for a job interview, you procrastinate. But have you ever procrastinated while scrolling on social media? Or while watching a standup comedy on YouTube? No. We procrastinate if it is an office work. Or for exercising. Or if it is something emotional, we'll procrastinate. In short, we procrastinate when it's something important. Something that requires a lot of hard work, physical, mental or emotional efforts. We replace that task with something that is more interesting and exciting for us such as browsing on social media or watching a movie.

The thing you want to do and the thing you are doing, if there's a huge gap between the two, there will be a conflict within you. If we aren't happy with procrastination, why do we do it? How to solve it? How do we stop it?

The actual reason behind procrastination can be any of these. Sometimes it is low expectations, or our needs or desires not matching, or even the fear of failure. Once you understand these causes, and you use it to identify the reason, the reason why you put off working on things you shouldn't. Then you can find a solution for yourself. If you're afraid of failing, remember one thing: Not trying is worse than failing.
