Karthik Calling Karthik - A Review

It's not quite a fashion to review a movie that has been released ages ago but I guess, there's always a first for everything. So here I am, writing my views on a Bollywood masterpiece - Karthik Calling Karthik.

To begin with, I would like to inform that this review might have some spoilers.

So the story is focused on a quiet guy, Karthik, who's very intelligent but is always overshadowed by others. He also has very rough past which haunts him at nights in the form of nightmares. After being really fed up with his life, he decides to put an end to his misery for once and all. He grabs sleeping pills but before he can swallow them, he receives a call from an unknown number. Upon answering, he feels terrified after finding out that the person on the line is Karthik, too. The person on the line tells him that he means him no harm and can help him better his life and even help him win the girl in his office he has liked for years. He accepts the offer and starts doing as the other Karthik says. As promised, his life takes a complete one eighty degree turn and he gets everything he ever dreamt of. In no time, he also wins over Shonali, his crush, and starts planning their future together. But before that can happen, he decides to tell her about the mysterious phone calls. Upon hearing about it, Shonali loses her calm and tells him to see a psychiatric. The other Karthik warns him ( the real Karthik) to not do as she says but he doesn't listen. She also tells him sternly to not answer these mysterious calls but when he ignores it, his life starts going downhill. Everything starts falling apart-  he loses his job, his girlfriend, even his money. The whole situation terrifies him and he decides to leave everything and go somewhere far off and totally deprive himself of any electronics. The terror stops until after he's forced to get a new telephone.

As much as I want to share the ending and reveal the reason behind those calls, I'm afraid it'll kill the suspense and you might not want to watch the movie, then. But, it's definitely not a horror movie even though it sounds like one. I watched the movie a long time back but it kills me when someone tells me that they haven't watched the movie. Therefore, this review/recommendation. This movie will definitely blow your mind!
