All Covered-up

It was January 2020.  Everything was going on as usual.  I had the experience of being in a job as a nurse for 8 yrs plus the 4 years of my graduation. So a total of 12 years. Being in a medical profession means you are dealing with living beings or you can say their life or body is handled by you. Either you are curing it or you are trying to reduce or stop the deterioration. In this long journey, I have seen many many diseased people. working in a tertiary and well-known hospital means you can get exposure to rare diseases which we read in books as one in a million can also be seen there.

Although, after having this huge experience, in 2020 we came to know that china is facing a problem. They called it  covid-19. There were videos viral all over about bats and they eating raw etc. We never thought that it will be an epidemic soon and we will be dealing with it.

Slowly, we were actually dealing with it in our country. This epidemic changed everything. The way of working in the medical field.

Soon all were covered up in plastic suits. With zero penetration and being sweaty working tirelessly and being confident that we can handle it well and without any fear.

After one and half years it's still here, persisting and growing and mutating. but I know one thing, the ones working there all covered up for long hours may be frustrated, maybe tired, maybe giving holistic approach, maybe arranging equipment and medicines, maybe leaving their homes and families but they are not afraid. They are not coward. They are happy and satisfied that they are real warriors.

And it comprises of a whole team. Doctors, nurses, technicians, sanitary people, dieticians and security, transport, and many people at the backend.

All may be covered up but there's love in their deeds.  being thankful for being a part of serving when the world wanted the most and hopeful it will be controlled soon.

It takes courage to get up and go to work where there's a restricted entry but every day there's hope. or we are just counting days or subtracting from an unknown number.

All I learned is to be patient, kind, and being hope for someone who is desperately in need of care not only in terms of medical care. It takes emotions to work in the scientific environment too.

Overall it been a wake-up call for humanity to be kind and generous and without ego for the sake of humanity. May all realize how uncertain this life is. So cherish the moments and have a happy and grateful life.
