In the year 776 BC, Mount Olympus started the Olympics Games. But, this was an unofficial starting. On 6th April 1896, the official start of the Olympics Games in Athens, Greece. The initiative was taken by a French person named Pierre De Coubertin. 13 Countries participated in this game.

In the 1st Olympics, there was no women's participation. Women's participation in Olympics started from the second Olympics in Paris in France in the year 1900.

There are three motos of the Olympic Games - Citius (Faster),  Altius (Higher), and Fortius (Stronger).

The Olympic logo is made up of 5 rings of a different color (Blue, Black, Red, Yellow, and Green). Each ring signifies different continents. Blue signifies Europe, Black signifies Africa, Red signifies America, Yellow signifies Asia and Green signifies Australia.

This logo was designed by Baron Pierre De Coubertin in 1913 and first used in the 1920 Belgium Olympics.

Olympic Flame First started in 1928, Amsterdam Olympic

International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the governing body of the Olympic Games. Its Head Quarter is situated in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was established on 23rd June 1894 in Paris in France.

Norman Gilbert Pritchard was the first Indian man to take part in Olympics. He was a British-Indian sportsman and actor. He took part in the second Olympics i.e 1900 Olympics in Paris, France. He won two silver medals in the 1900 Olympics. He was the first Asian-born athlete to win an Olympic Medal.

Michael Phelps the USA swimmer is the top medalist as a male. He won 28 medals. He is also the most gold medal winner as a male. He won 23 gold medals in his career in the olympics.

Larisa Latynina the Soviet Union Gymnastics is the top medalist as a female. She won 18 medals. She is also the most gold medal winner as a female. She won 9 gold medals in her career in the Olympics.

The USA is the country to win most medals in the olympics. This country has bagged a total of 2520 medals. It is the country that has also bagged most gold medals in the Olympics. This country has bagged a total of 1022 gold medals in its name.

Soviet Union (USSR) is the most consistent country that has the most successful average for winning medals in Olympics. It has bagged almost 112 medals per Olympic.

Michael Phelps won the highest no of gold medals in one Olympic as a male. He won 8 Gold Medals in the 2008 Summer Olympics. ​He was the medals in Swimming Category.​ He was from the USA.

Kristin Otto won the highest number of gold medals in one Olympic as a female. She won 6 Gold Medals in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. ​She was the medals in Swimming Category.She was from Germany.
