In earlier days, people thought that it was not necessary to educate women. Women were forced to be at home and do only household work. But since, the revolt of 1857 woman has risen up to that level where she can fight for why the society does not allow female education?
Due to these efforts now people are slowly realizing that female education is necessary for the development of the nation and society.
According to science, woman are far better than man in doing work. Woman are multi-tasking because their both hemispheres of brain work at a time, i.e., woman can do multiple work at a time. Therefore if women are made to sit at home and are not allowed to do anything else, we are wasting a lot of potential that could be used in nation-building.
Nowadays, female education is becoming popular and female are seen in everywhere working equally and more potentially than men. But still there are many people who oppose female education. For these people woman are only for household work and for nothing else. This view is wrong.
Educated women can play an important role in the development of the country. They can serve the society as teachers, lawyers, doctors and administators.
We can now see woman progressing in every field. We all know the first ips officer of India is Kiran Bedi- a woman. We can see woman becoming president- Pratibha Patil as well as Prime minister- Indira Gandhi. We can see woman participating in different sports such as cricket, wrestling, etc.
Our Indian womens cricket team has done great job in making the name of the nation. Indian team is the one of the best team in the world. Hima Das- the Indian runner from Assam has won medal in Olympics and now she is dsp in Indian police.
Nowadays it is difficult for the people of the middle class to make both ends meet. Educated woman can add to the income of their husbands and can earn a living after the death of the husband. Educated woman can brighten the future of their country by their good upbringing of their children.
But the problem of woman illiteracy is still in backward areas such as villages which there are still uneducated woman. If we could educate these then there may be more to participate in nation building.
After realising that female education is important, Indian government has taken measures such as starting government schools in every villages. There are many schools which now provides co-education. Now parents are also encouraging their girl child to study.
The progress of a country depends on female education. So, female education should be encouraged.
