Hello friends. Hope you are good and safe.

April Fools’ Day, also called All Fools’ Day, in most countries the first day of April. It received its name from the custom of playing practical jokes on this day.For example, telling friends that their shoelaces are untied or sending them on so-called fools’ errands. There is also some historical relevance of April Fools' Day in Ancient Rome, as the festival of Hilaria, which translates to joyful in Latin, would be celebrated at the end of March by those who were part of the Cybele cult. For this, people would dress up in disguises and mock fellow citizens. Its origins are uncertain. Some see it as a celebration related to the turn of the seasons, while others believe it stems from the adoption of a new calendar. There is one famous game called April fish played in French, the game is about one need to stick the paper at the back of other without their knowledge and need to shout as "April fish".April Fools’ Day traditions include playing hoaxes or practical jokes on others, often yelling “April Fools!” at the end to clue in the subject of the April Fools’ Day prank. While its exact history is shrouded in mystery, the embrace of April Fools’ Day jokes by the media and major brands has ensured the unofficial holiday’s long life. Many Frenchmen who resisted the change, and others who merely forgot about it, continued partying and exchanging gifts during the week ending April 1. Jokers ridiculed these conservatives’ steadfast attachment to the old New Year’s date by sending foolish gifts and invitations to nonexistent parties.

As per historians, it dates back hundreds of years to 1582.April Fool's Day was supposedly first celebrated in Europe and is linked to a change in calendars.Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1582, which was later named after him.According to the new calendar, the new year was supposed to begin on January 1.Some credit the ancient Roman festival of Hilaria as the inspiration of April Fools’ Day. Hilaria took place at the end of March and was a day of joy, merriment, and dressing up in disguises. However, because there is no direct link between the two events, the origin and history of this centuries upon centuries old celebration is still a complete mystery.
