A peacock has a long, shiny, dark blue neck and a crown on its head. It has beautiful, multicoloured feathers. When a peacock dances, it spreads its wings out like a fan. A dancing peacock presents a very beautiful sight.The beautiful feathers of peacock can be seen on its tail. There is an image of half-moon on the feathers of a peacock. A peacock has more weight than the other birds. So it cannot fly high in the sky.
If we talk about India, peacocks are found almost everywhere, but talking on a world basis, peacocks are found in very few countries like India Sri Lanka African continent and myanmar.They are called as the king of all birds. They look beautiful due to their colorful feather. It can live in dry and hot deserts and even can survive in extreme cold climates.The peacock always likes to stay away from humans, it is often found on the tall tree or in the forests.The voice of the peacock is very loud, which can be heard from 2 kilometers away, but its voice is full of consternation.Peafowl are afraid of dogs and snake. Peafowl does not like water.Peafowl are omnivores which means they will eat both vegetation and meat. Wild peacocks eat fruit, berries, grains, ants, flower petals and plants. Captive peafowl will also eat cat food, cheese, nuts, scrambled egg, cooked rice and kitchen scraps. The national bird of India lives in areas which are full of forests but they also need some of the human habitations nearby. Scientists have discovered and found that if the human habitation is not near it then peacocks can not last for long.So, the symbol of beauty and grace, Peacocks make everyone love them. They are the reason most children visit a zoo. A peacock looks amazing when it spread its tail.
There are 3 types of peafowl
The Indian Peafowl, found in both India and Sri Lanka.
The green peafowl from South-East Asia (from Myanmar to Java).
The Congo peafowl originates only from the Congo Basin.
