Being An Introvert - A Shame??? Part (Iii)

You have a problem but you can't find the solution. You are just a kid. You are not matured enough to understand the situation but that doesn't stop it affecting you. As I am an adult now I know how to tackle the bad. I do a little thinking about it and draw some conclusions. But when I was a child, when the actual problem was taking place I could not help but to let that happen as I didn't have enough courage to stand against it.

As I told you earlier the biggest fear of an introvert is getting judged. And you can't get rid of the hurdles how much you do the introspections and self-help unless until you let go that fear. That is the first and the most important measure to stop all your miseries.

I mentioned I was the first rank holder and that made me feel superior over others because I was that frog in a well the whole time. When I met the actual world I realized there are a lot more things to excel in than studies and a lot more people who were more talented than me. I understood my mistake but now this situation made me feel inferior. Even though I decided to be good to others I couldn't do the same to myself. And that resulted into hitting my self-confidence to the rock bottom.

It's not that introverts don't want to make friends. We just need to sense a true feeling from the person who really want to be us and it's the only way which can draw us from our shell. The reason why we don't take a lead is the humiliation we face from people. Yeah it's real! All the sarcastic comments, the taunting, belittling speech hold us back from trusting the peers. It truly hurts like hell (again until you stop paying heed to them). The introverts will be the most soft-spoken persons when you meet them but it will last only till they'll feel you are too much for them to handle and they will start retreating. Don't misunderstand it with the ego they are just trying to keep their sanity. We choose not to talk rather than quarreling.

The extroverts can be seen enjoying all the pleasures of the life. They love to wander every corner of the world but for them the world just ends with the physical boundaries of the territory. But for introverts, we can sail beyond those limits too with our imagination. The physical realm can't bound us. We all may seem to be all chained up but our thoughts are as free as a high rising bird. We can create the world that we want!

And after all happiness doesn't mean to roam everywhere you want and do whatever you like. It comes when you feel self-satisfied and peaceful. And we experience that pleasure when we are alone or with our special people. The less number of persons to interact doesn't make us sad. We are happy with what we have.

You call us boring because because we can't enjoy the life as you do but the fact is that the ways you entertain yourself are very much different than ours. You like to have parties in huge buildings but we enjoy a candle light dinner under the moon-lit skies. You like group outings whereas we prefer binge watching wearing PJs, rolling on the bed with bowl full of snacks.  You love to rock and roll and we seek solitude. Who says we are not happy. Buddy this is heaven to us!

Yes we like to have friends, we like to go on trips, we too like to have fun just as you do but for us it doesn't matter if we do that with 2-3 persons or alone. We still enjoy it to the fullest. So guess now you'll understand being an introvert doesn't mean being miserable. It is not a shame! So next time before talking to an introvert just keep in mind if you can't stand their way of life then at least don't judge it. Do not make fun of them. They are the most sensitive persons. Everybody can't cope with that.

And one more thing… never ever tell an introvert to “try to get a life” or “try to change your habits”. No it's not a habit! It's not a lifestyle to change. It will make things worse for them.

A word of advise to introverts too. Stop paying attention to the negative comments. Keep yourself away from the things that bother you. Have faith in yourself and remember your loved ones are always there for you. Don't get scared of the judgements because in the end it's your life and you should live it as you want. I know it's not easy but it is necessary!

We too are just like you. Our destinations are alike but the paths are different. Treat every person equally and don't make feel anybody little. Life will be better for everybody.

Hope it might now change your perceptions about the introverts!
