'KGF:Chapter 1' sets the tone for a highly polished gangster on style and detail. The first part was to establish the intentions and power of Raja Krishnappa Bairia alias Rocky Bhai. The second installment has managed to create a buzz with its promotional content that gives a sneak peek into the film.Does the film fit in with the buildup? It provides a better sequel and also has a big surprise for the fans at the end. The film begins with Anand Ingalagi's son Vijayendra Ingalagi as the narrator. Rocky has won over the people of KGF and he is now dreaming big and taking more dangerous paths.In the process, he meets Adhira, a Viking-inspired and visceral terror who wants the KGF back. Simultaneously, he also has to meet the pious Prime Minister Ramika Sen who wants to get rid of Rocky. A fan-favorite story of Rocky's journey to the top moves forward at a fast pace.The film, like the first part, presents a bleak, bleak world that is vividly shot. While the first part took time to prove who the main character is and included more time to establish it, this second part is fast paced and one can meet more characters.Conflicts and battles are more interesting this time. The film also manages to showcase Rocky's emotional side, with a love story and even some glimpses of his past life that fueled his ambition. The love story is not removed from the story too much.One of the best shots of the film is the introduction of Adheera played by Sanjay Dutt. It's pure magic on screen and whistles organically. Prime Minister Raveena Tandon also has a good track record. The other interesting addition is Rao Ramesh as the CBI officer.Prakash Raj also makes a good narrator, his baritone adding to the immersive experience. The film belongs to Yash as well as filmmaker Prashant Neel. Both of them have managed to come up with a sequel that looks deeper than the first part.However, Prashant always maintained that he had the bulk of his original story when he decided to split the second part into two parts. For audiences who want to watch an action film loaded with style, heavy-duty effects and dialogue, this one is simply made to order.KGF: Chapter 2 may not appeal to an apparently woke audience that questions willingness or engagement with commercial staples like violence. But here's an essential spoiler for those who love such movies, as the end credits hint at a third chapter, stay tuned till the end.
