On July,14,2019, the world cup match between England and New Zealand was held. I was very enthusiastic to watch the match. The match began smoothly, but later it started picking fire. New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first. The New Zealand chased 241 runs for 50 overs, also England chased 241 runs for 50 overs. Both the teams scored the same and ended up in tie. It was a DO OR DIE task for both the team. According to ICC rules, if the match ended in tie, then a over of six balls will be given called “super over”, and the team scoring more would be considered as the winner. The war commenced again between the teams. England on the field, scored 15 runs, Jos Butler and Ben Stokes was on strike, then New Zealand , was on strike with Jimmy Neesham and Martin Guptil, scoring the same 15 runs. It was first time in history of cricket, that a super over ended in tie. All the teams played vey well in the world cup, also New Zealand and England did great, no one could be judged for their performance, each one had a unique style and performance and challenging too. According to ICC rules, the team which had more boundary count was chose to win, and it was England who made their victory. New Zealand was runner-up. I was satisfied for England, cause for the first time they bagged the cup. But my eyes blurred as I was supporting New Zealand, I was totally in tears and lost my mind to study for my physics test. I started to cry to my mom….dad…uncle… then went to my couch and cried. I did not stop until my mom came and consoled me. I don't know why I was so crazy, I am not sponsor, not a player, or did not booked any tickets to watch the match, I did not do match betting with anyone and lost my money or I was not the citizen of New Zealand. I am someone who is so many mile far away from that country. Even they don't me, I don't them, but I still lost my heart for this country, yeah! It became my utopian country- with my many dreams and joy. I hope that one day they will bag the title. I wish success for the team and all other teams too. Since 2 years of the match, am writing this as a anonymous fan.
