Hahahaha, if the title caught your attention, then my friend you, and I are the same. I am a person, or rather most girls are who shop a lot and by a lot I mean by having a room full of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, etc, mainly unnecessary stuff. People like me tend to find shopping very therapeutic.
The sense of getting anything new provides us with satisfaction, but this satisfaction is very short-lived. Hence, the craving of getting anything new keeps us on our feet. We are constantly thinking about what to buy next, where to wear it, how to style it, and so on. But if we like something very much and are unable to buy it due to any reason, oh boy, our efforts in getting that thing are surely commendable.
And you should see us during the sale season, you will find us picking anything and everything we lay our eyes on. The majority of the stuff we buy will be things that we do not need at all. Just like yesterday night, I by mistake ordered a new lip crayon, while already having 37864868 of them in different shades. I might feel guilty now, but once it comes I will be on cloud 9 for perhaps 10 minutes at least and then that also goes inside the pouch and totally forgotten about in a few days.
Shopping might be a great way to prepare your mind. People visualize how they'll utilize the items they are considering when shopping, and in doing so, they are also imagining their future lives. According to researchers, for many people who are sad or afraid and believe they have no influence over their surroundings, shopping is a logical coping method for them. They have power over where they go and what they buy. When people feel unable to change their circumstances, they resort to buying for a sense of control.
Shopping can be mental recharge, whether it's window shopping, internet scrolling, or pawing through racks at outlet malls. It's like a vacation without planning or packing.
With so many advantages and reasons as to why shopping is important and necessary, I really hope my mother will support me more and rant less about my habit. However, the only thing suffering in the process is my wallet.
