Is There Life Beyond Our Earth?

Gazing in night sky and sometimes a question arises that if there are humans or life on other planets too?

Well, this question arises every now and then when we look into night sky.

However there was a time when humans tends to think of planets as God and worshipped them. Various mathematicians & philosophers like Aristotle, Claudius Ptolemy, & modern astronomers like Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei think beyond such myths and give a whole new meaning to our beliefs. This curiosity doesn’t end here but become a source of exploration of this universe and life other than our planet earth. In 1957, first satellite was sent to space & in 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first person to journey into outer space. Meanwhile, an American Astronomer named Frank Drake purposed an equation, known as Drake Equation, to estimate the number of extra terrestrial civilizations in Milky way galaxy - and the figure is in millions. In 1984, SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence), a Non-Profit Corporation was inaugurated that basically analyses radio signals from space for signs of intelligent life. Till date, astronomers have found hundreds of exoplanets. Some scientists predict hundreds of billions more exoplanets await discovery in our Milky Way galaxy. It’s easy to imagine there must be life on at least one of those planets or on some moon orbiting one of those planets. On March 7,2009, American Space Agency, NASA, launched Kepler Space Telescope to discover planets orbiting other stars that may have adequate temperature, conditions and  chemicals for life to be present. This launch helped a lot to narrow down the search of alien life. Till now, astronomers have found traces of life or the sustainable conditions for life on other planets and moons of other planets which can predict that there may be or there was life on those planets. Because of such observations many scientists believe that Earth was not the first planet to have life but the life came from some other planet. One of the most popular theory of birth of universe i.e. The Big Bang Theory creates a lot of possibilities for life not on just other planets but also the possibilities of having many more universes in space time where there can be number of planets and maybe intelligent life. The theory of black holes and wormholes are also a medium to satisfy the possibility of multiverse. Blackhole is a region of space time where the gravity is so strong that even light can’t escape and are believed to be a path to a whole new universe. Wormholes are supposed to be speculative structures that links two distant points in universe which eases space travel to large distances and aids explore outer space. The very first blackhole, Cygnus X-1, located within the Milky Way in the constellation of Cygnus, was discovered in 1964 while the very first visual evidence of blackhole is released in 2019 by Event Horizon Telescope. However no wormholes are discovered till date. Universe is very big and till now we don’t have such advance technologies to travel such large distances in shorter period of times or have energy resources to travel this long. Maybe in some near future, we find ways to find and easily communicate with intelligent life.
