Navratri is a time when Hindus celebrate the goddess Durga for killing the demon, Mahishasura. A more powerful God, Lord Brahma, had blessed Mahishasura with the gift of immortality because of his dedication to him, which meant he could never die. This is all about Navaratri! The Days of Celebrating Goddess Durga✨🤍

It's the Nine Days that we celebrate before Ayudha Pooja. Nine good days of powerful goddess.Each year, on each day of Navratri, an incarnation of “Goddess Durga” is worshipped to celebrate the day of her victory over Mahishasura, and the ultimate victory of 'Good over Evil.”

Kolu worship is considered to be the most important aspect of this festival which is celebrated for 9 days. To celebrate the festival of Navratri, it is customary to worship kolu at home. This Kolu celebration is the worshiping of colorful toys. 3, 5, 7, 9 steps should be arranged in a single band for Kolu festival. In this, you can see below in detail what to put in which step. At each step you have to place a toy of each creature.

 

 FIRST STEP: 

In the first step, toys of plants such as grass, plants and vines should be placed.

SECOND STEP :

In the second step, toys like snails and conchs should be placed.

THIRD STEP :

In the third step, toys of creatures such as termites and ants should be placed.

FOURTH STEP:

In the fourth step, should place toys of creatures like crabs and beetles.

FIFTH STEP: 

In the fifth step, the dolls of the five sentient beings such as animals and birds should be placed.

SIXTH STEP: 

The sixth step is to place dolls of human beings who are sentient beings.

SEVENTH STEP: 

In the 7th step the puppets of those who have attained the status of sages from human beings should be placed. Statues of Vallalar, Ramana Maharishi, Vivekananda should be kept along with the doll of Siddhas and Rishis.

EIGHTH STEP: 

In the eighth step, idols of gods and goddesses like Devas, Ashtatiku Balas, Navagraha lords etc. should be placed.

NINTH STEP:

In the 9th step, the idols of Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva, the heroes of the three goddesses, should be placed with their respective goddesses. Also, dolls of Lord Ganesha, Lord Muruga and other deities should also be kept.

Navrathri days are believed that Goddess Durga arrives from heaven to stay with her devotees during this time, and so it is considered to be an auspicious time.
