We have heard stories of a lot of serial killers. Most of them finally end up their life in the iron cage. But, by contrast, an incident in which a man who went to jail for a petty robbery turned into a serial killer has been big news in the media in recent times. Even more bizarre is the fact that his victims are fellow prisoners. According to statistics, this Brazilian is said to have killed about 48 fellow prisoners. It is likely to continue. Therefore, the person who is inside the crime of robbery will no longer be seen by the outside world.

People call him 'Lucifer' because of his vicious and brutal series of murders.

People call him 'Lucifer' because of his vicious and brutal series of murders.

His real name is Marcos Polo de Silva. He first went to jail in 1995 at the age of eighteen for a  theft. But then began a long series of murders. His method is to kill the victims by making a slit in their throats  and then remove their intestines. He faces up to 217 years in prison for multiple counts of aggravated assault. But when he heard the verdict, he was not shaken much. "I have no regrets about killing all of them. They were rapists and thieves. They are robbing other prisoners," he told the judge.

The now 42-year-old's astonishing prison history was recently reported by local media. He is said to have killed up to five inmates at the same time at the Sera Azul prison in Sao Paulo in a 2011 incident. He attacked the victims with a self-made knife. He committed the murder after being knocked unconscious by a fire extinguisher. "I like this show, but it's very few. There are still a lot of people to kill," he shouted during the attack.

His body was tattooed with scars, demons, and swastikas. Da Silva first joined the Primaro Commando da Capital (PCC). The PCC is the largest criminal organization in Brazil with about 20,000 members, of which 6,000 are in prison. However, Da Silva later left it and is now the leader of a rival group that aims to assassinate PCC members.

A prison guard says the next murder could happen at any time. Now, most prisons in the country refuse to take him. Psychologists examined him to see if the murderous tendency was the result of a mental illness. But they say they have found that Da Silva is not mentally ill and at the same time has a personality disorder that needs urgent treatment.
