The map, which is shaped like an elephant's head, measures 8.5 "x 12" and has the place names written in English. Its value is estimated between 100 thousand and 150 thousand euros (between 105 thousand and 158 thousand dollars).

The drawing is accompanied by a proof of the engraved map that carries, in addition to various corrections, seven topographical legends added by hand by Jules Verne.  

In total, 166 pieces that belonged to Éric Weissenberg, who died in 2012, one of the greatest collectors of objects by the author of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, will go up for auction.

Items up for auction include photographs, personal letters, bound originals of Verne novels, original prints, and posters.

A photograph of the writer around 1856, when he was 28 years old, stands out, considered the only original print that is known, which belonged to the Verne. The image, where he is seen as a "murky and tormented romantic" has an estimated value of between 5,000 and 6,000 euros (between 5,300 and 6,350 dollars).
