Wonderla is promoted by Kochouseph Chittilappilly and his son Arun Chittilappilly. The first Wonderla Kochi theme park project was established in 2000, followed by a second project in Bengaluru in 2005, and finally a third project in Hyderabad which was commissioned in April 2016. . The third theme park, Wonderla Hyderabad, opened in April 2016. Currently, the company is headed by Arun Chittiplappilly as CEO. This park is located on a hilltop in Pallikkara, 12 km (7.5 mi) from the town centre. The park was established in 2000 and designed by architect Joseph John.
Wonderla Kochi is the first park in India to receive ISO 14001 certification for environmental friendliness and OHSAS 18001 certification for safety. The park spans 30 acres with landscaped space with more than 60 games. In July 2018, Wonderla Kochi was ranked 11th in TripAdvisor's "Traveller's Choice" award for theme parks and water parks in Asia. Wonderla Bangalore has a dance floor complete with electronically controlled showers. Wonderla also has attractions designed specifically for kids, and these are as light but not as out of the ordinary as a children's freefall. It uses solar hot water for all of its pools in the winter. It has conference facilities for up to 1,000 people and five restaurants with a total seating capacity of 1,150. It has changing rooms with more than 2,350 lockers, toilets and showers. Wonderla Bangalore was ranked 1st in India by Tripadvisor and 7th best in Asia in 2014, the highest among all theme parks in India.
Wonderla Holidays opened its first luxury resort, an 84-room resort spread over 100,000 square feet and operating since 2012. The complex includes a dedicated play area for children, other entertainment and conference facilities. The resort is located next to Wonderla Bangalore.
Hyderabad
Wonderla Hyderabad offers 28 land rides and 18 water attractions on 50 acres. Wonderla Theme Park is located 28 km from Hyderabad. Its most notable ride is the Recoil, a kind of reverse roller coaster. It was launched on January 20, 2018 by CEO Arun K Chittilappilly and CEO DS Sachdeva.
