The answer to this is more than enough to boost your confidence. Your father is that one person in your life who will take care you like not even your own mother would, yeah you read it correctly because your mother will be worried about how will you eat today but your father is worried about how will you be able to eat the rest your life. This person is the only guy who will not show the love to you but deep down no one will ever love you more than him. 

be it any occasion he will wear that old rugged shoe with torn bottoms but make sure that you should look a gentlemen. He himself won't be having money but when you as a son/daughter asks for it will never let you go empty handed. At some point of time he just need a affirmation that he is doing right and he has support, he will never gonna ask you for this but your actions will sure do the more than enough. 

Now I'm a working professional and understanding how he must have felt when someone asks for money in your family and you have to say NO, it's not that you don't want to but its about that you have bills to pay and family to feed. There is a saying which goes “Aaish to baap ke paiso pe hoti hai, apne paiso pe to sirf zarurate puri hoti hai.”, I have realized  this when I started earning. So, now when I receive my salary the first thing I do is to pay bills of my home and also the bills that I have to pay for where I live. 

Do you remember when you used to be kid and must have said that “when I will earn, I will do this, I will buy this and that, etc.”  that's not what happens when you really start earn,  the only thing that you come up with is making sure your family is meeting the needs. 

So, now when I remember when my dad used to say that he doesn't need new stuff rather he is the one who needs the most but still never buys anything, Makes me realize that why he used to shout, those wee not the scolding rather those were the concern about my future. 

So, whenever you have the moment just give a tight hug to your dad and say that you love him, it's the one thing that you would feel but must have never said it, so say it out loud.
