So let's start here …..we all know that our life depends on nature and there products and plants is the most important part of this nature.

Plants, as we all know purifies the air but this is not the only function of the plants ….the many plants are use for medicinal purposes, other plants for beauty products and for many other work .

Here I will share some of the plants for home decor with there benifits and instructions for growing them.

1.Money plant ( Epipremnum aureum)  

- require little care  

-removes indoor pollutants like formaldehyde and benzene 

#Instruction 

~Light: avoid direct sunlight 

             Go for low light 

~Soil :Since root rot sets in easily, ensure              that you pick a sandy ,peat moss                  based soil that also allows foe                       good drainage of water 

~Water: do not water this plant more                         than once a week

This plant should be kept in South east direction of house or room as the south east direction is owned by Lord Ganesha and is direction of planet Venus .Lord Ganesha removes obstacles and Venus bring wealth

2.Snake Plants (Sansevieria trifasciata)

-add a dash of beauty to your house 

-requires minimum care 

-has superior air purification quality  

#Instructions

~light: Flourishes both under bright and                low sunlight 

~soil: can survive dry and poor soil                       conditions 

~Water: no over water required 

               In winter water once in a month 

#Plant position according to vastu shastra 

Eastern ,southern or south-eastern corner of house 

Avoid placing plants above any table or surface and not to be bordered by any other indoor plants 

3.Areca palm (Dypsis lutescens) 

-Also called as butterfly palm  

-Function as a humidifier 

-Bears cluster of yellow flower in summer  which brighten up your house 

-It is believed to be lucky plant  

-It brings wealth,peace and prosperity to your house pushing out negativity and attracting positivity. 

#Instruction 

~Light: required low light or partial                           shade 

~Soil: rich acidic soil that drain well 

        Mix soil with builder's sand to avoid           soil from becoming too heavy 

~Water:moderate amount of water

east,south east ,south and noth direction enhance productivity 

4.Peace lily(Spathiphyllum) 

-The elegant dark green leaves-soothe your soul 

-The huge ,fragrant flowers-calm you down at the end of another stressful day 

-Cleares air  

#Instruction 

~Light: lives best in shades, requires                       little sunlight 

~Soil: best left most ,needs watering if                goes dry 

~Water: only once a week

Keep near the window of bedroom from where it can incite peace , tranquillity and good luck. 

5.Lucky Bamboo plant (Dracaena braunii) 

-Bring happiness and prosperity 

-Requires moderate level of care  

#Instruction 

~Light:grows best in indirect sunlight 

~Soil: use well drained ,rich potting soil 

~Water: change water once in every 2                      week  

             Plant need to stay moist but not                soaking at all time

Eat or south east direction oh your house and can also be places at entrance 

6.Flamingo Flower ( Anthurium) 

-Leaves are clustered in shape 

-Inflorescence bears small flower which come in several colour

-Make your day bright 

#Instruction 

~Light: require lower sunlight 

~Temperature: 16-22degree centigrade 

~Soil: moist soil with high organic                        matter 

~Water: During hot and dry climate - mist                everyday and water every                            couple of the day 

               During humid climate watering                    once in 2 week

Place where there is low sunlight available 

7.Green spider plant or Ribbon plant or Air plant 

-Easy to care 

-Leaves add dash of contrast to your home 

-Brings positive energy 

#Instructions 

~Light: no direct sunlight 

             Even grows under artificial                          sunlight 

~Soil: any good potting mix should serve            the purpose 

~Water: only with tepid water through                       out the summer to ensure the                    soil is evenly moist 

               In winter you could allow the soil                to dry out before the next                            watering. 

#Position according to vastu shastra 

North, east , northeast, north west as this direction receives bright and fresh morning light which is suitable for growth of this plant. 

8. Gerbera Daisy 

-Is one that has showy ,long Lasting blooms that denote innocence, purity and cheerfulness and that comes in a variety of colours to brighten up each day. 

-Sent out as a ging on many special occasion.  

#Instructions 

~Light: requires unusual combination of                 bright light and moderate                             temperature so you could place it              out in the morning sunlight and                  keep if back in afternoon 

~Soil: rich soil which have good drainage            else the plant will dry out quickly 

~Water :water when the too of the soil                    feels dry to the touch in summer               and water sparingly during winter
