Being an Indian, we have taught many illogical things from childhood. They have no sense. This kind of superstitions are passed on, from one generation to other and then all the coming generations blindly believe them without knowing the actually reasons behind them. Each Superstition has it's own logical or scientific reason. Whereas, some superstitions are spread as rumours, it doesn't have a certain reason.

Here are some of the superstition with their illogical as well as scientific reason:

• Peepal Trees - People say that at night it's dangerous to sit under the peepal tree because ghost roam around there. This is a rumor that was spread to keep people away from the tree at night. Actually, the trees make their food by the use of photosynthesis. In this process, they exhale oxygen in the day which is helpful for us but at night it's vice versa, they exhales carbon dioxide which in return is harmful for us.
• Lemon and Green chilly on the Car - People say "Buri Badha tal Jayegi" means all the negative things will fly away if we keep lemon and green chilly hanging on the car. But in the earlier days, The people who roam around used lemon and green chilies as they help them in several places. For eg. lemon are used on wound for healing. The presences of citrus acid in lemon helps to recover.

• Twitching Eyes - “Meri Bai Ankh Fadfadari hai! kuch toh asubh hone wala hai”. Twitching of eyes is only because of some allergy, fatigue or stress, etc. Take rest, twitching of eyes can happen because you didn't had a proper sleep. There is nothing about worry that some bad things are going to happen.
• Limiting Women from Doing Certain Things During Period - In Remote places still it is believed that a girl is impure when she is in her those days of pain, i.e. during period. She has to sit aside, isolated as if she is untouchable. In the earlier days, the women had to do all the work and it was difficult to do them during the days of period. So, the solution was made that she will sit aside and take rest in those days. But now because of some humours women are treated as impure.

• To Whistle At Night - Some people belief that if they whistle at night ghost will come in front of them. Or by whistling at night their are inviting ghosts. It's a myth but most of the people still believe it.

There are many superstition that does not have any scientific reason and are a way too illogical. For instance, going back 10 steps after watching a cat crossing your round, a crow caving indicates that guests will arrive, dog bark at night when the see ghost, etc.
