England consists of more than a dozen islands. It is one of the most powerful and developing countries in the world.
- England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. It shares land borders with Wales to its west and Scotland to its north. The Irish Sea lies northwest of England and the Celtic Sea to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea to the east and the English Channel to the south.
- The United Kingdom is a combination of four different regions. The area of the England region alone is(1.3MILLION) 130,280 square kilometers. And its population is 25 million.
- England is 74 times smaller than the USA, 59 times smaller than Australia, and 3 times smaller than Japan. Compared to US States, England is about the size of Alabama.
- The largest and capital of England is London city. London is one of the most beautiful and developed cities in the world.
- In London, the tube (underground) route from Leicester Square to Covent Garden is the most popular route for tourists, despite the fact its actually quicker to make this journey on foot.
- In 2016, a referendum was held on secession from the European Union, in which 51% of the people voted against secession and 48% voted against it.
- The currency of England is the pound sterling. The total GDP of England is 2083 billion US dollars. England's calling code is +44. You would be surprised to learn that five year-olds are allowed to drink alcohol in private places in England. This means that children can use alcohol at home or in a separate place.
- The world’s most celebrated playwright, William Shakespeare, added approximately three-thousand words to the English language, shaping it to be the modern language.
- A Lying Festival is held every year in England. In which people from all over the world join and everyone has to tell a lie that is closer to the truth. The winner of this festival also wins prizes and trophies. But the strange thing is that no politician or lawyer is allowed to participate in this festival. Because in this country that politicians and lawyers are the biggest liars.
- Tea is famously the most popular drink among the English. It’s estimated that 165 million cups of tea are drunk in England every day – more than any other nation on the planet (by contrast, tea consumption in the US is 20 times lower).
- Most people will know that the lion is the national animal of England, popularised by the iconic Three Lions emblem that features on the country’s insignia, on the flags and shields of English armies from centuries ago, and on the England national football team jersey.
- Windsor Palace is the oldest royal residence in the world that is still being used by a monarch. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace was built in 1702 on the site of a notorious brothel. Britain is also called Uk in English. The United Kingdom has ruled overall debt for the past two centuries.
